What YOU Can Do for SAMA
What YOU Can Do for SAMA
Adopt
The life expectancy of strays in Malaysia is an average of 3-4 years for cats and 4-5 years for dogs according to the estimate of some senior veterinarians in Penang. Once adopted and living as part of family indoors in homes, the same animal now has a life expectancy of 12 years or more.
Adopting means not only saving a life but to provide love and care to ensure a quality life for that animal as well.
It is truly priceless indeed.
Please visit our adoption gallery. Your new family addition and your best friend is longing to give you nothing but unconditional love.
Donate
We also greatly need funds to pay for neutering subsidies, the vet bills for our adoption programme which include deworm, deflea, vaccinations etc we also have some fixed costs such as dogs in boarding.

Food bank
People can donate pet food or rice to us at any time which we will distribute to needy feeders.
There are times we will use donated funds to purchase the above at random or during an urgent situation and there are hungry animals.
We started SAMA during a global pandemic and the ones who suffered just as much and needed us most were the animals who relied on humans or eateries which were all in lockdown.
We wrote reference letters for feeders to show at police road blocks and tried to get food donations to help as many as we could.
Food bank food donations can be made at any time from anywhere or from the following pet shops for recipients to collect

Be a Volunteer
Volunteers are essential to the well being of animals. Our volunteers help improve the lives of our animals by visiting them in paid boarding, or temporary safe houses, providing playtime, taking them for dog walks, keeping kennels and play areas clean, increasing awareness and sharing their unique skills and resources.
Individuals and Businesses doing CSR projects, Schools, Colleges and universities are eagerly looked forward to coming on board with us.
Please contact SAMA to see in which area you can volunteer
Foster
Help us to foster cats and dogs temporarily until we can find their permanent homes.
We will guide you all the way while the animal is in your care as to vet visits, care of those who may be sick during foster care, how to socialise them and get those being fostered adoption ready.

Educate
What to do when someone shares a post saying people are looking for adopters as they are giving away their pets.
First of all as a voice for the homeless we do not help people give away their pets!
Pets are a life time commitment, they are your family, there is no reason that we can find except death that can warrant giving them away. There are just choices, some harder than others and above all there is LOVE.
We can help find solutions and help people do what it takes to keep their families together.
A dog or cat embraces you as their forever, they put their whole trust in you and love you unconditionally. To break this trust is one of the worst things you can do as a human. There are no excuses good enough to break an animal’s heart.
Would you give away a child?
Children can talk, they can tell you what they want, they can ask for help. A pet is totally dependent on us.
If they are given away some adapt fairly quickly while others remain depressed, they are known to get separation anxiety and become very stressed. Some have even pined and died of broken hearts.
On top of that, you may think its ok we have found a good adopter, but this means one less adopter for the homeless on the streets who might die because of your action, because of you there was one less home.
